space-hulk-coverWell it turns out the Games Workshop ‘Mystery Box’ and ‘Space Hulk 2009′ rumors were one in the same. This is great news for Space Hulk fans. Unfortunately it is only a limited release so we will probably not see much support for it.

The game is shipping with a 23-page Rulebook, a 47-page Mission book and 35 plastic Citadel miniatures, including: 11 Space Marine Terminators, one Space Marine Terminator Librarian, 22 Genestealers, and one Broodlord. Planetstrike — Review

Posted on Updated on

The blokes over at World’s End Radio have done a very nice review of GW’s latest Warhammer 40,000 expansion Planetstrike. It is in Episode #23 – Planet Killers starting at 39:20min into the show.

Like many of the recent reviews on the Web, they cover the basics of the Planetstrike book, but they also go into detail about army options and strategies as well as terrain effects, terrain building and use of strategems. Overall a great show for those thinking about Planetstrike as well as for those who already have it.

Theatre of War 2 — Review

Posted on Updated on

tow2_logoArmchair General magazine has a nice review of Battlefront’s  Theatre of War 2: Africa 1943. TOW2 is a WW2 tactical computer wargame.

Overall, Theatre of War 2 is just the sort of game tread-heads have been waiting for. Historically accurate and lovingly detailed, the easy-to-use interface is great for intermediate and advanced wargamers. Newer players may be put off by the brutal combat environment, but they will be rewarded by sticking with it. While the limited number of scenarios is disappointing, future expansions will hopefully fill the gaps. So if the sound of tanks on the move warms your heart, sign up for Theatre of War 2. The panzers await your command.

RAF: The Battle of Britain — Coming Soon

RAF
RAF

Decision Games is redoing RAF, the classic solitaire game on the Battle of Britain from West End Games originally published more than two decades ago. RAF ‘deluxe’ is now three games in one. You can play solitaire as the British or the Germans or play it as a two-player game. The original RAF was probably one of the best solitaire games ever made. It used a card-based system that was easy to use and kept both the excitement and the challenge high. We are looking forward to this remake.
