The Wargamer is back!
After a few weeks of a server move and site redesign The Wargamer.com Website is back and better than ever. The Wargamer is an excellent source for info on computer wargaming with some board game coverage and military history.
New Tide of Iron Expansions

Fantasy Flight Games announced two new upcoming expansions for their WW2 tactical combat board wargame Tide of Iron. First is Normandy: Operation Overlord Expansion that adds the battle for the beaches to the ToI system. Second is Tide of Iron: Designer Series, which is a hardcover scenario pack that provides 20 historical scenarios including one epic scenario that requires two copies of ToI.
It is good to see FFG expand ToI more in the european theatre before taking it off to other fronts. Both expansions should be available in late 2008.
Heroes of Stalingrad — Video

Matrix Games posted some videos of the upcoming computer wargame Heroes of Stalingrad based on Lock ‘n Load Games’ Lock n Load WW2 board wargame. Overall the game looks interesting and appears to be even more of a direct port of the board wargame than we initially thought. Hopefully the AI will be good enough for a challenge.
AT-43 Dotch Yaga — Preview

Rackham, in Cry Havoc Online #99, released some AT-43 preview images of the upcoming, and long awaited, Red Blok Dotch Yaga strider. They provided a 3D rendering and two different sketches (sketch1, sketch2). The Dotch Yago is somewhat reminiscent of the WW2 German 88mm Flak gun.

Games Workshop Design Studio Podcast
Games Workshop has a new irregularly scheduled podcast. Up first is a 46-minute episode on design philosophy,
In our first episode, Studio veteran Jervis Johnson and Warhammer 40,000 rules designer Alessio Cavatore talk about the changes that were made to the new edition of Warhammer 40,000, focusing on the new rules and their impact on the game.
It is an interesting podcast but the audio quality is not the best and the various accents can be a bit tough to understand. You can subscribe directly.
They now have part two available, Design Philosophy II: 40K Rulebook Background Section.

AT-43 Cogs and More

Rackham, in Cry Havoc Online #97, released some preview images of upcoming AT-43 minis. There are a few Cog figures that all look a bit too skinny to be threatening. Hopefully the other Cog troops look a bit more scary.
There are also two new figures (troop and TacArm) for the O.N.I. Corps. I have not heard of this faction before and do not know if it is a new playable army or a portion of the U.N.A. Army. Certainly the weapons and use of the name TacArm seem to indicate U.N.A. origins.
They also showed a Therian Golgoth concept image (image1 and image2) created by a player that looks very nice indeed.
Cry Havoc Online #98 has some better looking Cogs.
Cry Havoc Online #99 has a Cog in what looks like an exoskeleton (or maybe powered armor) with missile launchers. Image1, Image2, Image3.

Cry Havoc Online #100 has a number of new AT-43 images. First is a nice size comparison shot of the Cogs. They are big indeed! There is the Fire Crawler lieutenant card. Perhaps most interesting, and very menacing, is the final MRX Golgoth conversion (image1, image2, image3, image4).
Cry Havoc #105 has some more great shots of painted Cogs.
